I had my first session ever with Nicola a couple of weeks ago, I had never done anything like this before and to be honest I didn’t even believe that anything could help with my OCD.
I first realised I had cleaning OCD around two years ago whereby I would spend hours cleaning my house each day until it was completely spotless and if I didn’t do this, I would feel sad, frustrated and as if my life wasn’t in order. I tried counselling and medication and both just didn’t seem to be helping me.
After my session with Nicola, I instantly felt like I had a different mindset. I felt refreshed. I was excited to wake up in the morning to see if I could notice any difference in my cleaning and I did!
I wouldn’t say that I have completely stopped cleaning as a whole but it certainly hasn’t been obsessive and I have learnt to realise since my session that I needed to spend a bit more time on myself and doing what I want to do, which I have been doing and feel amazing for doing so.
